24 hours earlier....
Friday 12th August - 04:30 The Owls are VERY excited ! They are going on holiday !! They have packed their suitcases, and are just waiting for the transport to be sorted out.  The RoofMobile has been valeted, and most of the plantpots and sweet wrappers tidied away. The tank has been filled.  Only one minor administrative detail remains.... Roofgarden to East Midlands ATC... permission to taxi...
Roger Roofgarden ... Roofmobile-1 has permission to leave the Drive...
Be advised, we note you have two passengers.
Accordingly, be advised that your call sign is being changed.... ... Roofmobile-1 is now....  ... .. Owlforce One ... Bon Voyage ! |

It's a VERY exciting day. The Owls are going to see dianthus in Wales. It was a LONG journey, but finally they arrived. They where a little anxious. After all, the Owls are notoriously fussy about their accomodation, and the Polytunnel is a VERY hard act to beat.

Their concerns where assuaged as soon as they saw dianthus's Roost n' Breakfast arrangement. The plush Hessayon carpet immediately put their minds at rest.

The Hessayon-lined roosting box was met with approval !

.. and the Comfy Chairs where tested and deemed suitably comfortable !
|
|
Time to unpack the suitcases.

.. and a little light post-journey snack.
|
|
I said a LIGHT snack, Owls, not "guzzle the lot". Sigh.

Bronwyn was delighted to be back in her native Wales, and was determined to wear her traditional Welsh headscarf...

... and Owliver had been ITCHING for an excuse to try out his new camera !
|
|
Suitably refreshed and dressed, the Owls where now ready for their first trip out. But where would they be going to ?

Well, where indeed ! But that, my friends, is another story ! to be continued... |

Roofgardener is in a grumpy mood. I arose from the Onion Sack at 06:00 thismorning, keen to finish a video of The Owls Abroad, 'wot I had been working on all Saturday. Around 8 minutes ago, I was just finishing the end titles, after almost 3 hours work, when.. "Adobe Premiere has stopped working" And I lost most of the mornings work !   I'm going into the polytunnel to sulk. There will be NO breakfast !!!!!! (hopefully I'll get the damage repaired by thisafternoon). |

Funnily enough, it was the Owl Sanctuary section that was lost ! (it's towards the end). Well, it was only the edit decision list that was lost, not the actual video clips (thank gawd). But it took me hours to produce it, complete with editing the music track as well  |
