I'm.... SO pleased that the two of you have burdened me with these images, JUST as I was about to try and sleep Anyway, LOTS of creatures have flat bases. Umm... you know...umm... elephants and stuff. Very long-haired dogs. Things. Hell, I'm a "concept" person. I leave YOU folks to sort out the details !!

Yes, Dai.... they have flat bases, so they have bits missing No, it`s because there is so much condensation in the `tunnel that it is too wet to woo I`ll just get my coat.

Indeed grindle ! But it gets worse..... The owls are depressed !
They're starting to realise that - despite the new workbenches, and although there is MORE space yet to be used - we will NOT have enough space to bring on all the onions, vegetables and flowers that we had hoped to do. We've already used up a LOT of the space, and we have over 200 onions (and some other stuff) yet to germinate and require potting on. Oh sure... I've got the Auxillary Greenhouse to overflow into, but that isn't heated, so I can't REALLY use that untill March. And the Polytunnel will be overwhelmed LONG before that. Clearly, I will have to abandon my cherished plans of providing Onions for the family for an entire year. So then, we must sit in a darkened room, listen to gloomy Leanard Cohen albums, and bemoan how a Cruel and Uncaring World mocks our dreams and hopes, and dashes our plans and desires. ALTERNATIVELY ...... I can dismantle some (currently) un-used outdoor standing units, and re-assemble them in the Polytunnel as SHELVES to create the desired plantpot space. The Owls seem MOST pleased with this development !

Another quick update - I've sown 20 Geranium seeds in two small seed trays. I've not bothered with clingfilm or heater wires for these. Hmmm..... Perhaps I'll clingfilm them later today ? But DEFINATELY no heater wires. This decision is made STRICTLY in accordance with a rational and scientific approach to horticulture. The fact that I've run out of heater wires has NO bearing on the decision at all !

Looking good in the polytunnel, Roofy.
How about sliding your geranium seed trays into a loose-fitting clear plastic bag and secure with a plastic tie. Loosen when the seeds show through the soil.

Ooooh... good idea dianthus. I may give that a shot. Only problem is... I don't really have any transparent plastic bags. Mind you... if we are talking germination... do they really NEED any light ?

Most seeds prefer a clear bag, to get the sunlight through. Seed packets tend to say if the covering needs to obscure the light.
I reuse the large bags that Greggs put my loaf of bread in, but not the thin stuff with the pinholes in it.
You could always sweet talk a Greggory's gal to get 3 or 4 when you buy your next loaf
