My Birthday is now officially over. We went out for a meal with my Mum, Dad and my Sister. Secretly wish I hadn't been asked questions about my work but thing is they just want me to be happy and for a long time I have become increasingly unhappy at it. Only work Tuesdays and Wednesdays but had to go in on the Monday because basically I was told that it was in our best interests to go in on the 1st day back as we have merged. Hence I had to work on my Birthday which I was not happy about as I had been really happy that it wasn't on one of my 2 work days. HH was going to book the day off of work and knowing us we would have ended up either at the Cinema watching Star Wars for the 3rd time or shopping*.

So Monday morning it was cards, then presents after Pirate's swimming lesson. The girls have been swimming for years. We have 2 little Mermaids all that is missing are their tails. The highlight of the day was really cute. Pirate had already decided to tell everyone that it was my Birthday and as soon as she saw her teacher she started telling her. At the end of the lesson, there was lots of whispering and the children in 2s swam under water and stopped infront of me and said something but I didn't quite hear them. So the teacher told them to say it all together: Happy Birthday! With Pirate in the front with the biggest grin on her face.

So that was the highlight of my Birthday, work wasn't as bad as it could have of been and I got to spend time with my family without being super tired and grumpy.

I didn't want to celebrate my Mum, Dad and Sister because I didn't want to spoil it by being stressed out / grump / miserable on Monday itself, so Thursday meal was the much better date.

So Birthday is over but...

Today is Fairy's Birthday.

So I'll be seeing my family again tonight.

She is at the really difficult age where we don't know what to get her and she doesn't know what she wants either. Seriously.
She is in double digits but not yet a teenager.
She has outgrown the age of 'toy' toys,

no more Frozen and next year she doesn't even want anything Minion

Didn't buy her any clothes because if she isn't wearing uniform the only thing she wants to wear are black leggings and 1 favourite T shirt which is navy with the word 'AWESOME' on it. (Honestly that poor T shirt is washed almost daily.

She doesn't like crafty things as much as Pirate does and didn't want anything like that.
She loves music but couldn't tell us which bands she likes. Told me that she was happy with the 'Now that's what I call hits album that she got at Christmas.
What she loves is reading and we bought her Harry Potter at Christmas which she is rapidly working through. Then she has Enid Blyton St Claires, pony stories box sets to work through. Today we gave her Diary of Wimpy kid - which I guess she'll have read before she gets up tomorrow.

Very tough trying to think of something that she would like. We bought them both a scooter for Christmas which they both love but ran out of inspiration for her Birthday.

We did get 1 thing that she loves. That's on her chair next to her bed, so close it is almost on her pillow. She might want to be a grown up but she's still my little girl at heart (just don't tell her I told you that).

My sister was too ill tonight to come round tonight. She had had a very stressful day and she has they awful migraines. Some people don't understand migraines they think that it is 'just a headache' and should just take a couple of paracetamol, then it will all be fine. You couldn't get much more wrong.

Anyway, my Sister couldn't come but my Mum and Dad came to see the girls swim and then we all went back home, so that she could open her Christmas presents. Not forgetting the Birthday cake.

We all held our breath while the woman fished out the fish from the tank. Luckily it wasn't one that the girls had set their hearts on. So we dutifily handed over our water same for them test. Test said that the water was safe to buy fish. I am willing this woman to finish the test and another woman appears with fish tank bags to fish out fish for him. Luckily for us it was goldfish.

So we got our fish.

Even though they are very naughty and pulled out my plants.
