or as HH says:
"My family and other Dahlias."
(There were many other suggestions of what to call this thread and lots of laughter from my family)
I cannot believe that this is my 4th Diary of a bizarre erratic gardener (Always a diary - never a blog) - Still don't know what I am doing but having a go.
You can see that I've changed a bit:
Purple wellies tiny steps. - 2013
Purple wellies tiny steps - clear as mud! - 2014
Purple wellies, tiny steps – Getting muddier! - 2015
I still don't know what I am doing, a lot of bluff, luck and loads of mistakes.
I have grown more confident (but certainly not cocky) with my dahlias and that's about it but there is more to me than dahlias ('onest guv'nor) and this year I would like to attempt to grow something other than dahlias or rather something else and dahlias (and notinstead of dahlias). I would like to try Sweet Peas again hope to have a go at growing some onions.
My daughters aka Fairy (Pink Wellies) and Pirate (Yellow Wellies) have done really well entering classes in the local horticultural show and last year Fairy pipped Pirate at the post to win the Children's Cup. I would like to enter something in a non-dahlia class (as well as dahlias). Last year I managed to win the Intermediate Shield at my County dahlia show which means that I have to now enter classes with 'grown up's i.e. the people that I am a combination of awe and scared of because I believe that they are so much better than me.
I would like to establish the beginning of change from Chaos in the garden moving towards somewhere HH in particular can feel Welcome and Enjoy spending family time outside.
I can't wait to see what seedlings come up, whether or not the ones that I tried to save grow again. I can't wait to have the chance to grow my Dad's seedlings this year and I hope so much that some of the 42 seeds that I collected from Tel 's Wyn's Favourite germinate .
But I don't want it to be 'me and my dahlias', I want it to be better than that and hopefully my Diary updates will begin to reflect that. Fingers crossed, eh?
