Thanks Lou78W so the same as when in house, that's great. I thought that but best to check when using a new to you technique. I can't afford to lose too many especially from over watering lol

Things are starting to motor . Lots awake got another 46 cuttings today so nearly at the 100 Mark.
Let's see what roots !
Started off all my other pot tubers in individual pots . These will be for plant sales and friends.
Fingers crossed things root well and so far very little damping off touch wood.
Winholm Diane though is bothering me . Firing lots and lots of shoots off the field tubers ( 3 of the 4 ) one looks blind will lift and split it but the shoots are very thick and deformed looking . Managed to get some decent cuttings today . Cut all the thick and weird looking ones back.

Sounds like Diane is virused ....if it were me...I would ditch the tuber and any cuttings off it...oh! and sterilize your knives etc.,

I have now asked around and Diane can be like this with thick ugly cuttings . Been told take from the second batch. It was a bit like this last year with pot tubers but the field tubers more so. I shall be vigilant and keep an eye on them. I will bin this one tuber though. The others better.

A productive day in the sun, didn't get the shed insulation finished but did start some of our dahlia tubers. Marston lilac, garden friends, Marston Suzanne and a barberry pip all showing life - not bad from a cold greenhouse, I'm happy just to have some alive!!! Lol

I tried ian the black bag technique on a winholm Diane field tuber. Zero eyes lovely strong tuber but just not doing anything yet the other three firing shoots galore. So I split it in half put into the black bag with a bit of compost and moisture sealed the bag and put in the airing cupboard. This is what I got after three days. Totally amazed at this. The other half looks like it is forming eyes as well. I will check it again on Wednesday. I am trying the same technique now on a hillcrest candy field tuber and some pot tubers. Not split the pot tubers.
