I have decided to "blog" my garden here. hopefully it will help me to get better organized . My front garden is flat , the side one is mostly flat and the back one , which is L shaped is sloped in all directions and a pain to work on and design. The soil is heavy clay , soaking wet in winter with water lying at the lowest point all winter , and dry and cracking in the summer . Thankfully most of the garden gets lots of sun . At the back edge of my back garden there is a two cage high gabion wall with a fench on top , this cuts out a lot of light . The houses beyond the back are quite high adn sometimes a missile will fly over in the direction of my 8 X 12 greehouse , hence the reason why its polycarbonate.
In the back far half of the garden I have 4 beds, on a slope , a greenhouse and a large stoned area in front of the greenhouse for cold frames which are on a flat area that I "cut and filled".
also two wooden, falling apart, compost bins and a 5X7 shed, this area is known as the allotment . Just outside the back door there are a few slabs on the flat and the left of my garden consists of a 6x8 shed and a raised patio area with dangerous wobbly slabs as steps.
Finally there is the bit in the middle I just dont know what to do with, its full of rubbish and weeds , I put a tiny pond there last year but it dosn`t work.
I have loads of rubbish about the garden , cracked buckets , bits of wood and metal from an old greenhouse ( bit of a hoarder ) The two sheds are unenterable as they are disorganized and stuffed .
In the front garden I have a row of pink queen elizabeth roses which are not doing very well , no grass , just two central large beds and large boarders around the edges with bark paths in between .
The side garden is like a woodland area with less sun and a winding bark path around some unusual shaped planting areas I have an apple and large damson tree here. There is s sloping fence here that divides the garden from the back garden . I have made a "hidden" secret gate in this fence to allow me quick access to the back "allotment" and compost bins .
Pictures will follow
