We look forwards greatly to your new photographs Eli .. and perhaps you could also put shots of your shelter area's back into the Greenhouse Gallery area ? But be aware... there will ALWAYS be snide comments about the Welsh language, just as the Welsh will make snide comments about the English. Such is life. I am quite entitled to make snide remarks about the English language - I am 1/4 English, but when an outsider makes snide remarks about another language it is insulting. I will not continue with this. That's an end to it.
I will be happy to put photos of my shelters on the Greenhouse Gallery area later on.

I've got a new name. It's a name I am known by on another forum, and it was also my Great-grandfather's name ... but you can still call me by the old name if you like - I don't mind.
I deleted my account because I felt insulted. It was another member's fault. He was going to take a photo of a signpost with a Welsh place name on it, for people to see how 'unpronounceable' it is, and presumably have a good laugh at it. I found that insulting, and it made me feel angry.
You'll never understand why, so I won't go into any details about it.
I am sorry if I upset people by deleting some of my comments and photos, but I did it in a fit of anger. I will post new photos this year ...
Good to have you back.....
If you want to get your own back on Kent place names, here are some anomalies:
River Stour rhymes with dour not bower, as they do in other counties.
Godmersham rhymes with babycham, but remove the 'god' prefix and Mersham is pronounced Merzam. The villages are under 15ml apart.
Hastingleigh is pronounce Haz ling lie
Ham Street is in Orlestone, but everyone calls it Hamstreet, as the railway station was named after the street rather than the place. (wiki has it wrong). If you remember the Ordnance Survey stamps, they used the village for the stamps, as the oldest OS map was for Mid Kent
I love our place names, and wouldn't want these nods to our heritage to change.

There WHERE two villages in Nottinghamshire. One was called "Upper Bottom".. the other one was lower down the valley, and called Lower Bottom.
I think they've both changed their names in the last 10 years.

I don't want to get my own back on anyone dianthus and I don't want to insult anyone. And I don't want to be insulted either.
I am not continuing with this.

<snip> I have NEVER set out to be insulting to ANYONE. You need to develop a sense of humour my friend or a thicker hide and do not presume to know what I or indeed anyone will 'have a good laugh' at an unusual place name because it is in Welsh and basically indecipherable to most folk including many Welsh folk. I do not 'Laugh' at unusual names. I do find some of them bewildering though but they are what they are and we are what we are. Furthermore I do not accept that it is MY FAULT you felt insulted. Rather I think it was you taking umbrage where none was intended. End of.
