I like the static shot, thecrackedpotgardener, and I loved the humerous (and effective) use of captions during the "out of frame" action sequence. I was also intrigued by the use of toilet-roll inners as seedling pots. I'm going to start saving mine up ! Was this shot using your new sports camera, or the original one ? Also, how did you accomplish the static shot ? Was this a tripod, a desk-clamp, or an improvised mount ? (there IS a reason why I ask)

The sound is pretty good, and the wide-angle lens makes for great establishing shots, and also makes the handheld footage 'steadier'.
Would I be right in thinking that - as a sports camera - it is fixed focal length ? (e.g. you can't zoom in and out ? )

I think it was pretty good too thecrackedpotgardener , the sound is fine - once you find out how to stop your screen going blank to stop the clicking noise as you switch it back on. The picture seems very clear too & not so jerky as you say because it's easier to hold.

Don't despair thecrackedpotgardener, The camera is a sports camera, so you wouldn't expect it to be good at capturing sound. The pictures, however, are good ! (especially with your improvised mount, but even the hand-held stuff is vastly improved). The framing is excellent, and really showcases the hints, tips and demonstrations you are giving. The video's are WAY more "watcheable", and your vocal delivery has improved hugely now that you're not having to hold the camera AND talk at the same time ! In regard the yellowing vegetables; I noticed that there are VERY sharp shadows and highlights in the greenhouse. Is it possible that there is just TOO much sun ? (as opposed to high temperatures). Have you considered hanging some sheets up to act as a sunshade ? (I did this last year, and it helped. It also gave the polytunnel an intriguing "Berber tent/Glamping" look ) Your demonstration with the toilet rolls is a revelation... I'm saving them up already to try out myself next year. (and I've asked everyone at work not to throw them away from the toilets as well, along with asking all of my family) Regarding compost; there is a thread somewhere (and from within the last year) in which another forum member complains of the same thing; they lost an entire season down to suspect sterile (or even toxic) compost. You've inspired me to try making video's again.... by a wierd co-incidence, my employer wants to make some marketing video's, and has bought a really nice camcorder and a tripod n' stuff. I got to take it home this weekend to.. ahem... "familiarise" myself with it. Take a gander at my blog/diary if you're interested ? (it's only a test video; unlike yours, it contains no useful information or advice).

"Regarding compost; there is a thread somewhere (and from within the last year) in which another forum member complains of the same thing; they lost an entire season down to suspect sterile (or even toxic) compost."
It was me, Roofy. It was the new style compost which is made up of washed council -collected garden waste, which is washed of all nutrients and chemically enhanced. It is like grass clippings, not proper gardener's compost.
You need to buy traditional compost or buy responsibly sourced peat and make up your own mixes.
I lost all my tomatoes and most of my flower seedlings last spring.
