I think a party on the roof garden could be hilarious lol roofgardenerI often have wee mini parties with usually just me and Bob in attendance, lots of happy dancing when something new happens That's my style of party, KC. I don't really like crowds anymore. Anyway, more than about 10 people and the roof would collapse ! I agree with daisy about outdoor parties, and ... thanks to the fact that all my plants are in pots... I hope I can avoid dianthus 's experience ? But then... thirty years ago ? And you havn't had a party since ? Surely not ?

Ermmmm .... no, Roofy.
I can't even remember the last party I went to. No-one invites me as my friends are all miles away.

At 61, daisy , we become less like party animals and more like couch potatoes. I'm not a drinker and was a hopeless disco dancer, so I was never on many party guest lists. C'est la vie!

ROFL.... only when the tomatoes turn red !
Don't wait for invitiations... create your OWN "party"... even if its just a garden buffet or something... and invite THEM !
"Be the Change that you seek in the world".
Mahatma Ghandi.
Mind you... I have it on good authority that he was PANTS at gardening !

Tricky question.... August would be better for the weather. But September would give me a better chance to serve home-grown Onions and Spudlinks ! Hmmm.....

Just listening to GQT - apparently Moneymaker tomatoes 'deserve' to get blight

That seems like a VERY strange comment ? Why on EARTH would they say something like that ?

That's not very fair on the poor old Moneymakers is it?! They grow well & taste good, maybe it was said by someone who only likes 'unusual' tomatoes.

This year I have Sungold, G Delight, Alicante,Rainbow Blend..they are a mix of different coloured wee plum toms, Black Krim and I had a couple of seeds left that I got from Tel of Goldstar, only 1 germinated so hopefully it'll make it.
