I've got Shirley as my main plants, along with Golden Crown and Sungold (both cherry). My dad used to grow his own plants from seed, but the past few years bought them from a garden centre instead.
I didn't have much hope for the plants I bought this year, as they didn't look great when I bought them last week. But having brought them home and given a bit of water in 2-3 days they'd turned into decent looking plants. They are now very close to planting out in the greenhouse.

I've been advised to not water tomatoes with water from the butts - quickest way to get blight, they said. I never knew that

I've been advised to not water tomatoes with water from the butts - quickest way to get blight, they said. I never knew that I suppose that makes sense piskie as blight spores can be carried by raindrops etc. & could land in water butts. I tend not to use water from butts on any of my edibles or tiny seedlings just because you never know what's in it, I just use it on all the ornamentals.

Could be the very beginning of it I suppose piskie but I'd just pick off any leaves which look a bit suspect & give the plants a good feed & water, I've had plants which have looked like that & have recovered so it's worth a try, just keep them away from any plants which look clear.

And now leaf curl. The leaves are clear of nasties but tightly curled at the top of each plant. Any ideas? PS I can do pics now
