.... Men who would look good in anything - even a binbag - Cleve West & Chris Beardshaw ... Ain't that the truth

I agree on all those points @sue - I very seldom wear a dress - my favourite is my (on the undercarriage shall we say) patched faded jeans! My OH says O for goodness sake are you really going to wear those? - Now..coming from a man who..from time to time..looks as if he's slept in the garden all night in the rain..is a bit double standards to me

I don't think the best garden is the right choice.... it doesn't reflect a geologist's viewpoint, at all. Who writes those blurbs....designers looking in the caverns of their rear views!!!

daisy - no tie - Joe as well! I like Andy Sturgeon & the garden he designed but have to say I preferred Chris Beardshaw's & Cleve West's to his dianthus.

Lol yeah thought they wouldn't last long - James Wong is still wearing his tie!
I agree about the gardens I preferred Chris Beardshaw's - we'll maybe get to see the rest of the 17 gardens during the rest of the week.
I don't agree that there should be a people's vote I think it says the judges are wrong if their choice is different - and its not nice for the the person awarded the original award.

what's a dress ? I still don't think they are showing enough of the gardens I agree with you though Chris and Cleeve's gardens are more my style, Andy's garden is very good but not my thing at all. Are we likely to see any of the small gardens there's not been a mention of them at all yet

I was wondering that as well grindle, the small gardens are always better than the huge show gardens as they have more ideas most of us can relate to.

true SueA but there's not even been a hint of them yet, unless they're going to have a spot all to themselves, which may happen as Monty was saying they are his favourite gardens. I see Andy Sturgeon's garden is getting slated for being best in show, the public aren't loving it.

It wasn't my favourite grindle and SueA - Joe Swift was having a go at James Alexander Sinclair about the garden that won gold when clearly there was bare soil showing - J.A.S. replied that it's was already shown in the designers brief - it was a (can remember the name but prob see it today again) nice garden,l but, when you see the gardens that didn't get gold with not a hint of bare earth makes me wonder why? Poor Matthew Wilson (York Minster stain glass window) he was very gracious about his silver medal - I thought it would've been a higher one - but clearly the judges see what the viewers don't. I think you're right grindle not enough coverage of the gardens - but plenty coverage of off round the country with the designers and the plant buyers too! Hopefully we'll get to see coverage of the small gardens eventually - I'm not sue they'd omit those - I think it'd cause them a lot of backlash for that - mind you do you think that would bother the BBC - judging from past complaints maybe not!

SueA think we'll get to see the small gardens tomorrow - well hopefully as it's been the same old same old so far - just bit fed up with it really...and I'm usually easily pleased too!

yes they did manage to squeeze all of 10mins in for the small gardens SueA let's hope there's more to come. I much prefered Cleeve West's garden, I have liked some of Andy Sturgeon's gardens in the past, and probably technically this one was good but I didn't think it warranted Best in Show, I guess there will always be controversy on judging and as it was pointed out it was a manly garden and there are no women on the judge panel, so I guess it's down to us on Peoples choice

I'm afraid I am getting a bit fed up with it now They show too much of the same things. And I'm bored with those celebs ... I don't know most of them and I'm not interested in them anyway.
When Beryl saw Monty Don last night she said 'Good God ! look at him !'
