Went outside today and spotted that unfortunately an unidentified tree in our garden had broken and fallen over. Looked a bit closer and I'm now certain it is a willow (possibly pussy willow)! Argh! Ran to get the secateurs to get some emergency cuttings... If I can't save the tree, maybe I can raise some of her daughters...

Or HIS son`s ziggy. It looks to me like a very mature Kilmarnock willow.

That's a shame ziggy , I think it looks like it may have been a Kilmarnock willow as well, I've got a small one in our garden.

Or HIS son`s ziggy. It looks to me like a very mature Kilmarnock willow. Lol, I don't know why but my husband and myself have always referred to trees as female..like ships.

I've never heard of a Kilmarnock willow. It was a lovely tree but I think it was inevitable since the inside of the bark felt so crumbly.
