So, I just spotted this section of the forum where people are doing blogs about their gardens and I thought I would give it a go. We just moved into our new home in May, and although it needs a lot of work doing to it, it has a lovely garden with a polytunnel and 7.5 acres of land. I want to change some of the land into woodland and make it an even better place for the wildlife but it might take a while to get where we want to be. I will take some photos and post them here so that everyone can see how it looks at the moment. We have so many nooks and crannies with unidentified plants and trees so you'll have to bear with me as I get to know our garden. Maybe you can all get to know it with me? There are definitely new things to be discovered every week out there so I will post pics as often as I can. If I forget to post, prod me...

I have actually managed to grow about 5 or 6 laburnum from seed with that very idea in mind.. We really do love it here. There is a lot of work to be done but it's a really lovely place to be. Save

Methinks you are going to have a lot of fun and hard work putting your stamp on that landscape. I am very envious. This may be a very long blog.... perhaps years, lol. Save

I went to the fridge today to check on my pre-treatments and yet another whitebeam seed has germinated. I also have some acorns that need to be planted pretty soo too... I am including some photos for you all. Also, the peach tree that germinated in there last month that I was worried about because of the time of year seems to be doing very well in the utility room for now. Now to put my new seeds into pre-treatment and get those new dates into my calendar.. The pre-treatment works English Oak looks eager to grow Can you spot the germinated whitebeam? Peach seedling looks happy enough despite winter light levels

Is the whitebeam seed the dark blob with a cream line sticking out towards the bottom of the pile in the middle of the photo ziggy ? I was never any good at those 'magic eye' pictures either years ago! I've got lots of acorns waiting to germinate around our garden - I keep finding them buried by the squirrel! You seem to be having a lot of success with your seeds, you'll soon have a thriving tree nursery.
