Well, it seems that the storms have subsided, and the Polytunnel is still there Just a quick summary of what I've planted thus far: Item | Quantity | State |
---|
Cosmos | Lots n' lots | Germinated, and growing | Nigella | Copious quantities (30+ seed pots) | I have SOME cress growing in the pots | Night Scented Stock (malcomus maritimus) | A cornucopia | Hundreds of tiny sproutlings | Pansies | 12 pots (one gravel tray) | unbroken soil | Californian Poppies | One tray | no signs of life | Trailing Lobelia | One tray | Nothing ! | Chilli's (two varieties) | a half-tray | Zilch | Sweetcorn ! | a half-tray | zip ! |
To follow..... - Salady stuff
- Runner beans
- Sweet Peas
- Herbs.. not sure WHICH yet..
|
Well, I've got this little wheelbarrow, currently full of primroses
I'm toying with the idea of turning it into a Salad Barrow ? Perhaps some little gem lettuce, a bit of rocket, some chives etc ? What do you all think ? |

I agree, something like 'cut & come again' salad leaves would do well really in the barrow.

It's all looking very good roofy. I`m reminded to sow some night scented stock in the greenhouse for some early flowers, there is nothing like the scent even better than sweet peas. I like your idea of hanging tools from the wire mesh I can never find mine when needed and was thinking of getting a THIRD shed just for tools one of those little sentry ones but they are not cheap .

Hmm... my tools don't actually hang from the mesh ladybird .. I think that was grindle ? Mine hand on bits of thick wire from one of the overhead polytunnel support poles. A third shed WOULD be expensive. You COULD get a PVC growhouse type thing, but it wouldn't be secure. From your photographs of your greenhouse... you have OODLES of space, surely ? Couldn't you erect a wide plank of wood up against a wall, and hang tools from that ?

No I couldn't have all my tools in the greenhouse roofy especially now that its made of glass eek! I did try putting all the hand tools in a kind of basket and I do believe there are still there somewhere in this shed ! I wonder what is under all that stuff ?

Roofgardener's Border Wall
Well, we've all heard about Donald Trump's border wall. But THIS one is FAR more important ! At first, the landlords seemed a bit off-ish about me planting stuff in the Garden. They seemed to want to retain control of it. However, last weekend was a real eye-opener. They seem to be throwing themselves into it, and really helping me out. They bought a whole bunch of wooden planks, and started demarking the edges of the lawn to distinguish between lawn area, and flower beds, which is brilliant. This weekend just gone we worked together to dig out a trench to put the first Border Wall down. Click on the pictures to see a bigger trench !

Well, I may have mentioned the flock of Little Brown Birds that keep flying across the road. I watch them from my kitchen window, thinking "I wonder what they are" ?
A couple of days ago, two actually landed in my garden, and I got a good look at them.
The are House Sparrows !! Apparently they are an endangered species ?
