I do like that one ladybird about the skip 'try not to take things out again with ideas to reuse' ! I'd buy a new wheelbarrow & throw out the old one, that way it might encourage you to plant that lovely little apple tree you've got in there which I remember trying to get you to plant out somewhere years ago - just in a big ceramic pot would be better if you can't find room in the ground, I've got a few in pots.

I couldn`t throw out the plastic wheelbarrow Sue, its very handy to plant things in and I can move it about the garden. I`ll have to think about that, but your right the tree has to be planted and I think I also have some anemone growing in there from cuttings Rosie sent me years ago.

I`m doing an 8 week course for the over 50`s. Its two hours on a Thursday morning at a local allotment site. A new facility was built along side the allotments last year with two toilets, a kitchen with a water boiler for an instant cuppa, a large shed and polytunnel plus lots of very high raised beds with an area to facitale wheelchairs. There are about 12 of us and our teacher is from a local conservation group. last week we sieved soil in the polytunnel and planted bulbs in a living wall. We were offered tulip bulbs to take home and plant ( I was very good and didn't take any ) . This week we made, painted and planted up a window box.

Ooooh that window box looks GREAT, ladybird. Hows the general garden project going ? Not much change I`m afraid . I have the greenhouse orderly and lots of seeds sown but I`m still trying to figure out what size of beds I want for the veg before I order the wood. Also I have lots of 25mm black water pipe some of cut into lengths and used for a frame over the beds. Now I`m thinking I could make a much taller one to walk into, much like a polytunnel, for more tomatoes. So I`m looking at polythene prices with reasonable postage to here. I like to have everything at hand before I start.

any polythene for to use as a tunnel needs to be UV stabilised or it will not last much more than one season. Check out some of the polytunnel suppliers for off cuts as I remember getting a piece big enough for my old 12' x 12' polyhouse. lasted for years so it did. Luckily I already had a frame which I had scrounged from somewhere. later I got a 25' polytunnel and that was guaranteed for 5 years and was till there wfter over ten years when we moved home.

I found uv polythene from premier polytunnels at a good price sweetpea@ but the cost of postage to here is £25 I see a place here in N.I. that sells it so I might take my granny trolly and use my bus pass to collect it. I`ve never been to County Tyrone
