NO. It's totally the wrong time to prune any clems.
The group 1 clems, like alpinas, cirrhosas and montanas can be trimmed after flowering if they've outgrown their space.
Group 2 clems only get a very light trim in early spring, to snip off any dead bits, while group 3 plants need to be cut back to about a foot off the ground to a pair of healthy buds, again in early spring.

I would repot it if you hadn't done already, and stand it outside in a sheltered spot, also put some canes in to make a teepee shape to give it something to latch on to

I was worried that it was getting a little leggy thats all, i potted it on when it came . Its got a support and Ive put it in the cold frame.

it should be fine now, I have last years plugs sitting outside now and they are healthy, in the cold frame should slow it up a bit, ;D
