I hope you are all ok in your part of the country and staying safe, luckily down in our little corner covid isn't too much of a problem, but I'm avoiding Plymouth where numbers are rising. Take care everyone

Thank you grindle, I'm pleased to know you are all right. Things are not too bad here in this part of Carmarthenshire but Llanelli town is in lockdown. I'm staying local.
What I find is daft though, and also rather dangerous, is that the lockdowns seem to be mostly done by county. However there is a village near here which is half in one county and half in another, and therefore one half of it is in lockdown and the other half is not. But if one half of that village has a high level of virus and needs to be in lockdown then so does the other half.
Near here also there are three villages in a row, you can't tell where one ends and the next one begins, but the middle one of the three is in a different county and is in lockdown. If that village has a high level of the virus then so do the ones on either side of it, because the people of the three villages mix together.
I can't see the sense in locking down one half of a village, or the just the middle one of three in a row. That will not stop the virus from spreading. The virus doesn't care where the county boundaries are, it spreads where people mix too much. The lockdowns should be done by neighbourhoods where places are joined together, never mind where the county boundaries are.
End of rant ! lol

We've been in a sort of 'local lockdown' in Salford/Greater Manchester for over 2 months now & people are not supposed to visit other people in their homes or gardens in this area or anywhere outside the area unless they're in a 'support bubble' with a single person or going in for education/caring/emergencies or helping someone in need but an awful lot of people are totally ignoring this. The covid infection rate is still going up around here, it's about 3 or 4 times the national average although I don't think it's widespread in our town, we'll probably be getting some more restrictions in the latest review though, it shouldn't affect us too much though as the only places we've been are supermarkets, local walks, a couple of garden centres ( may not be able to go to the bigger ones outside our area though) & the local football once which has been declared 'Covid safe' & is easy to social distance at. My O.H. has been going to the local gym & pool sometimes & not sure what will happen with those but as he's managed to pull a muscle he hasn't been going for a while anyway.

Norfolk has the second lowest rate of infection, but it is no cause for being complacent. I still worry about Tesco and Morrisons and try not to go too often. Goodness knows what Christmas will be like. I don’t think Nicola Sturgeon wants me to visit my son as I did last year, and second son visits his partner’s family. I think somehow I will make it to Scotland as long as no MPs are travelling (Margaret Ferrier!). I would try out the new sleeper I think.

the whole affair is getting really complex now, I think a lot of people are just so confused with the rules. Down here nothing is changing as far as the 3 tier system, and although Exeter has quite a high rate, the say it is mostly localised to the Uni and not widespread in the city. I haven't been to Plymouth since early lockdown, I did think of going a couple of weeks ago, but now I won't bother, only been to our local Tesco once and mostly shop online now. You're right about Christmas Cherry not sure if we will be seeing family or not now

Nothing has changed down south at the moment the 3 tier lock down is mainly midlands and up north, we've just heard on the radio it's very low in the south. We do a big shop once a month also for mum other than that we use our local store, we haven't been far either just for our walks away from people. Keep well and safe everyone

Our parliament are in dispute, as always, choosing to ignore the experts as the numbers are rising here at an alarming rate. I`m amazed at the amount of people who disregard the recommendations and refuse to wear a mask. I have sent several emails to Translink ( our system ) re non wearing of masks and overcrowding on buses and they tell me they dont have the authority to enforce it which is untrue and they advised me to get off the bus/ glider and wait for another that would be more acceptable, imagine that for advice! I finally sent an email to my MP who sent it to translink and he got a "more mature" response which he sent me. I`m glad to say I saw a driver yesterday firmly challenging someone not wearing a mask , so I hope it makes a difference.
I hope you all stay safe in this "second wave"

Here in Torfaen it is compulsory to wear a "face covering" on public transport and all shops/businesses. Thankfully we have one of the lowest rates of covid in Wales.

ladybird I struggle to see why people just cannot follow the rules, why don't they understand it's for the good of everyone. Glad you got a result in the end

I am regularly tested for Covid-19 by National Statistics and the result of my last one was negative for cvirus which is good, but my birth date was incorrect and the test date and time was also wrong. It was tested in the expensive Nightingale test centre. I didn’t bother pointing it out. Why do they bother?

To be honest, the only thing that has changed for us is having to wear a face mask in the shops. Other than that life has gone on as normal. Well apart from being unable to get a doctors appointment and having to wait until Boots can do a flu jab as they say too many applying and not enough vaccine. The NHS may be wonderful in many ways but this Covid business is not doing them any favours. My simple mind assumes that doctors are to see people with medical problems but because of CV they hide away. However when I went to A & E recently the doctor there checked temperature on forehead took me in and did examination and sorted me out with medication. No mask wearing and hands on checking so if a hospital doctor can do it why not the GP? Don't make sense to me. And I am in the so called 'Vulnerable' group cos of my age
