I met LS Lowery back in the 60's. He used to come and visit his sister who lived 4 streets away from us. He used to walk on the seafront and then sit and watch the waves. My dog went up to him for a pet and he did pet him. He then chatted to me and my uncle. Saw him many times over the years. A lovely chap.

I remember Lowri a little but haven't seen any of his work in 50 years - at least!

We have a whole gallery dedicated to L.S.Lowry just down the road from here as he was from Salford. I'm not a big fan of his 'matchstick' style paintings but he did some lovely seascapes & more detailed earlier work too.😊

Sunderland Art gallery used to [may still] have exhibitions of his work.
