Your flowers look nice in the jam jar SueA , sometimes that's all is needed
Thank you grindle and SueA
Part of it is finished grindle (the old lean-to gone and new little room erected there, where I have the cooker freezer etc) and soon the old conservatory (seen at the side of new room) will be pulled down and a little extension build for the kitchen in its place.
Walls will be rendered when it is all finished later in the year. Inside ... (walls need painting).

All looking good! You will be much happier with your new extension! As SueA says those are nice wide windowsills & you have lots more light as well! Perfect conditions for your plants to enjoy! (As well as you! )

one of last year's survivors and hepatica, the first time I've grown them so hoping they will bulk up

That is a pretty tulip and I love hepaticas. I find Hepatica transsilvanica bulks up better. I have some lifted this spring and they are in pots if you are interested in one Grindle.

Not strictly a 'flower' but on the other hand it is - florets of white sprouting broccoli! I sowed the seeds about 18 months ago & planted out 6 plants in the raised veg. bed. A couple of the plants didn't get very big & were eaten by slugs/snails/pigeons etc. but 4 of them thrived & grew taller & taller. Finally this month they have 'flowered' & produced some sprouts, they are creamy white but do have a tinge of purple as well, 18 months to produce enough for about 4 meals for the 2 of us!

That's an achievement SueA, I tried growing them once but failed miserably

i failed too but we had an excellent 'crop' of large and small white butterflies. worth it in a way for the butterflies.
