Another day without doing anything on the balcony! But a couple of days ago I did pot up 6 dragon Tree cuttings that had been rooting in a jar of water in the kitchen for the last month or so.

Up until a few years ago I could never get them to root! But once I read they could be rooted easily in water I just had to give it a go! This is my third, & probably last, year of growing them like that! I shan't be taking any more cutting - for a few years at least!
What I have found curious is that the mother plant will start to sprout at the same time as the cutting are beginning to make roots This is the 2nd year I've made that observation! This year it was more important to me to check the mother plant as I'd cut it back much further than at any other time since we have had it. I had left no leaves on the tree so was a little concerned how it would react! I needn't have worried as even without a single leaf it's sprouting nicely!
.
.
The first photo is what it looked like before I cut it back drastically . The 2nd photo shows what it looks like now! Even though you can't see the sprouts very clearly they are getting bigger every day & shortly they will be recognisable branches again!
