Not taken any flower photos yet for the new month but I did take one of a gatekeeper butterfly on the lysimachia Elizabeth & yesterday a beautiful hornet- mimic hoverfly appeared on the lawn, it looked a bit dopey so I picked it up on a leaf & put it on the little 'bee friendly' roses.

Yes steve, it's a little conference pear tree in a big tub, not that many pears on it, only about 9 or 10 I think & I'm not sure if they'll be edible as a couple which fell off were brown in the middle. I got a few nice fruits off it last year though & made chocolate & pear pudding with some of them!

Thanks grindle, do you know the name of the little white daisy type plant in my pics., I can't remember what it is & thought you might have had it in your garden as well, I'm sure someone on here had it years ago, it's a woodland type perennial plant which grows in semi shade?

I've got something similar to that white daisy SueA and I think it's called Kalimeris. It isn't doing well for me this year.

With such plants, you have to wait for a spectacular display. This is the best display for our Spanish Dagger in 20 years, given its had a chance to settle in!

Thanks Eli, I don't think it is kalimeris as the name doesn't ring a bell & the flowers on my mystery plant look more dainty but it is similar.

That's the one grindle, thank you, I hadn't heard it had changed it's name but remember it was aster divaricatus, I'll have to put a label by it so I don't forget again!

Lots of the plants on the balcony are past their best now but I'm finding self-sown Petunias popping up everywhere in the pots. I have two plants that are flowering very well & I've noticed a couple of more pots with what looks like Petunias seedlings! They are both white so it looks like the plants from last year breed true.
Just one seedling Petunia is different, in fact it was the very first to flower. It's in the Skimmia pot.
The other self-sown Petunias are white & are sharing the pots of red Geraniums:
Here are a few photos of the Morning Glory that is also self-sown but which is growing & flowering in one on the hanging baskets;
A few pictures of the Pelargoniums flowering at present on the balcony:
