I am happy to send you some 'lemon queen' later in the year GG, just let me know how much you'd like. It is a good doer and relatively easy to dig out. Sorry, did not see this. Anytime if you don't mind. Not sure I have anything to send you in return though.

I went out on the balcony to see if I could get one last photo of this Peruvian Lily, but no such luck, the last stem with flowers had gone over during the weekend! But I did see a shorter stem with lots of buds on it! I don't know if they will open in a few week's time or not. This is my first year of growing this plant & it has had a lovely time flowering over all the summer! It's also provided me with some wonderful photos to remember it by!

I'm very happy with my Fuchsia 'Garden News'! Though my effort of making a standard hasn't worked out as well as I had hoped it has, nevertheless, produced lots of flowers all summer & is still flowering even now! I ended up with 2 horizontal branches after the other 2 got broken off.
This Fuchsia has now taken the place of 'Beacon' as my favourite Fuchsia! Although I have a couple of plants of 'Beacon' still & 1 is still in flower, it hasn't done nearly as well as in previous years. Last year I had a plant that grew very well & flowered very well all summer. 'Garden News' did very well last year but I only had 1 or 2 plants but the cuttings I took & rooted from it have grown & flowered very well indeed!
I bought 2 plants in Sainsbury's a few months ago but they were unnamed. These 2 plants have struggled all summer & a couple of weeks ago I brought them inside & put them in the kitchen. One has had an infestation of greenfly which I just squished with my fingers. Neither is doing very well & I doubt they will survive the winter, even in the kitchen. The flowers are pretty but they don't hang down like more traditional Fuchsias. Instead they are held horizontally on the branches & the plants have remained very small. I would like to see these two survive the winter &, hopefully, grow & flower better next summer.

There is still lots of colour in my garden so I thought I'd share some images with you. Clematis 'Niobe' A wonderful single fully hardy dahlia: Dahlia merckii A pretty slim flowered Fuchsia, if any one knows its varietal name I'd be grateful. A lovely soft baby pink Phlox panniculata A gift from the birds Iris foetidissema or stinking Gladwyn. One of our native irises.

Thank you both
The colour is very sparse grindle, but nice to see some still about in the autumn.
Anisodontea belongs to the same family as Mallow balc2 - Malvaceae. It isn't hardy but I put it in a shelter for the winter. I bought it as a standard shrub last year, from B&M Bargains, and I'm going to try an save some seeds if they develop, and maybe take a few cuttings soon.

Yesterday I put the Cyclamen plants back into the rings on top of the balcony railings. Later during the evening I wondered if I had done the right thing by putting them back in their place as we were forecast heavy rain overnight. Fortunately it seems we didn't have the rain after all as everything on the balcony looked to be dry & the Cyclamen didn't have raindrops on them nor did the compost in the pots feel very wet. Phew! This morning I spent 1/2 hour cutting back the Geraniums & Pelargoniums that I want to put in the mini-greenhouse on the balcony table - when I get it assembled & put up again - which, hopefully, will be next week. It will mean several hours work as assembling the MG is a lot of work. Then I will put the plants I want to keep in it for the winter. Even though I do this every year - & have done so for about 15-16 years, I still find it hard to get the right pieces into the right positions! You wouldn't think it would be that hard, especially after so many years of doing it!
