I've planted some Cyclamen in pots on the balcony railings in place of the Pansies or Violas I normally put in for winter colour. They now die off from a virus every year so this year I've decided I would plant Cyclamen in their place.

Moved your photos to here balc2 as I've closed the September thread now. Love cyclamens, those look lovely on your balcony! 😊 Thanks very much! They do look nice but I wonder just how long they will flower. I planted up the last 3 plants I bought last Saturday. I put them on the top of the balcony railing in the aluminium rings I use.

Alstroemeria Indian Summer still throwing out flowers. Helianthus 'Lemon Queen' with Anemone japonica 'September Charm' poking through from the back of the border. My favourite rose, New dawn. This is a cutting from my mum's garden when she died. The original plant was planted in her garden in 1936. I have had mine since 1996. Lovely perfume, shape and colour. An un-named Fuchsia that comes back every year though I suspect a really had winter would put paid to it. Is it Dollar Princess? A pretty Rudbeckia: deamii, not Goldsturm which is in a different part of the garden.

I don't know what your Fuchsia is Eileen, they are often difficult to identidy, but it isn't Dollar Princess. It's very pretty though.

We used to have H. Lemon Queen, but it was very rampant so I did not bring any with us when we moved. No-one round here seems to sell it so replacing it is proving a bit difficult. Always the way.

I am happy to send you some 'lemon queen' later in the year GG, just let me know how much you'd like.
It is a good doer and relatively easy to dig out.

I can’t buy Crown Prince or Quinces in my area, so I grew them. The pears at White House Farm were the best and ripest crop ever.

This 'Flamingo Lily' was a gift from my son a few years ago. We gave him one for his birthday a couple of years earlier but when they moved house a few months later it died on them.
