. . Then there's the so-called "Christmas cactus" which is 2 different types "Holiday cactus/Thanksgiving cactus" Thanksgiving cactus | plant which flowers around November. Then there's the "Christmas cactus" which flowers around Xmas/New Year,
I've grown all 3 over the years but no longer have the "Christmas cactus". The Easter cactus flowers every year for me. Though I've put "Christmas Cactus" as the caption it should really be "Thanksgiving Cactus"!

If you look closely at the leaves of Christmas/Holiday Cactus you will see that they are jagged whereas those on the Easter Cactus don't have these jagged leaves but have more rounded & plump leaves. The flowers are also totally different, those of Xmas/Holiday Cactus are longer & extend downwards whereas those of Easter Cactus are open, daisy style flowers.

lesley Did you put the Morning Glory in your hanging basket on purpose or did it just appear by itself? I've had several hanging baskets with Morning Glory growing in them in the past. But I didn't plant them myself, they must have come from compost that later ended up in a basket.

Here are a couple of pictures from last year. From August I think. I hadn't named them as I usually do.

As you can see on the 26th we had some rain!!! There are still a few Geranium & Pelargonium flowers hanging on & the Fuchsias are still flowering. They, together with the Cyclamen, don't mind the cooler, wetter autumn days!
