We don't have water bans, but we don't get much rain either. We have just had the driest March on record and no rain since before February ended.

I doubt they would dare suggest it Louise, it would probably rain every day thereafter We've been tending to Pen's Mum's garden today and it's as dry as a bone, stuff just not growing

My ground is still damp so everything is loving the heat and growing well.
This is the first winter that the orchard hasn't flooded since we have been here (11 years), it normally floods at least three times during the winter.

Merlin, doesn't your mother in law water her plants in dry spells ? If not she's only herself to blame, you've got to keep watering or you'll lose everything. I start to water here most early springs, this year i started in March and haven't stopped since - i'm very rewarded though because everything is growing beautifully, i'm very pleased with things so far.

It's been very warm here again today, we haven't had an hosepipe ban for a while. We have two water butts and I plan to collect 'grey' water for the flower beds. It's the veg I worry about.
Late April was beautiful in 2009 as well as 2010.

I'm dreading it! The "watering with a can" nearly finished me off last year ...but I'm proud to say the garden survived the hosepipe ban, even though I nearly didn't Please, please, let our reservoirs be full, and our hosepipes be allowed this year...
