;D ;D Have you ever had a ants' nest in a large container? I have - and they killed the plants and it was murder trying to tip the whole lot out ready to refill it and replant! (And yes, it up on pot feet). I have 3 very old watering cans that I used to plant up with thyme - they all got ants nests in them I leave thwe cans empty now I had an ant nest in a large urn which contained a phormium, I now plant into a plastic pot and sink that into the urn which seems to have solved the problem.

I use a bit of zinc, the stuff that they used to use on your old meat safe (now that takes you back!) As for ants, I hope you don't have the reds, I'd move house if I had them! I do have ants in my raised beds, I wonder if I lifted Mable up on there, whether she would eat um up, she has a laser guided beek

I have ants nests in my greenhouse every year, they drive me mad. I've never been able to get rid of them. The wren and blue tits spend a lot of time in there but they never eat them all.
