I have just seen a great spotted woodpecker ;D ;D
This is a first here !

It was in one of the large conifers way behind the rowan and the old cherry tree opposite the front of my house.
It was on the topmost branch of the conifer just looking around for a minute or two before flying over the top of my house ..... i am chuffed to bits to have seen it

They are very shy birds, it took years before ours didn't fly off at the slightest movement.
