I have helped to load the books over from the Macmillan sale to go to the next village for their charity sale in a fortnight. Not good for the back.
Now I have to somehow, with help, load up the barrow to take the deer which was killed on the road for a long walk to the woods.
I have made pasta sauce from the tomatoes, capsicums, chillie and local onions and garlic. I think the tomatoes will slow down their ripening soon.
We made £2,500 for the Macmillan Cancer charity. This is a very small village, with one shop and a primary school. Amazing!

One of our friends would have kept it and got it ready for freezing Thats a fabulous amount of money raised for McMillan Cherry, such a good cause

Excellent result from your sale, Cherry - well done to all of you.

A very good amount for a very good cause Cherry I gave to them again this afternoon because I was at a funeral at Kings Lynn. The crematorium was packed and I sat squeezed on the pall bearers' seat, next to a button which stood about an inch proud of the brick wall. I could hardly believe it when a pall bearer came and moved me, then pressed the button for the curtains to enclose the coffin. It was only luck that I had not accidently done this myself.

That is a good idea Geranium. I will ring them in the morning. Thanks for that. You're welcome. I had to smile at your funeral experience as well - sorry, I know they're not happy occasions. I'm glad you didn't lean back too hard though! To change the subject, I rang about my laptop and they're adding some RAM....it should be ready tomorrow...I shall be sooo pleased to get it back!

Made me smile too, I've been to a few funerals where I've laughed & cried in the service, I think I would have giggled if you'd leaned on the button! Great amount raised Cherry, well done to everyone in the village! Someone the O.H. knows through work knocked down a deer recently, he phoned the local police to let them know what had happened & they gave him the number of a nearby gamekeeper to ring as he would collect it & butcher it as it was fresh, the guy drove home & did this & went back to show the gamekeeper where it was & was given a 5lb pack of venison for his troubles!
