Our M&S always has a good selection of Orchids as you go in...but it is one of the smaller 'Simply Food' shops

I've got that book, too - she really knows her stuff, and the book's a great resource.

It is a glorious day today, but my gardening time has been used by pilots and visitors. There have been 14 movements on the airstrip today, one 'cup of tea' couple and one Avon lady.

It's been a lovely day here too, we had a power cut all day so I didn't get much time in the garden either

About once a month, I don't mind but the OH's life revolves around electric

We had two long power cuts last year. One was when the Flying Farmers Association came to us and I couldn't do teas. I did not tell them about the gas in the caravan. The other was on my birthday which added to my birthday misery of not going out for dinner because there are Christmas parties taking over the restaurants. We used to have a lot of power cuts when we first moved here, but it is good now.

We did too, Cherry, funnily enough - long ones. OH loves 'projects' so he installed a small generator. That has definitely worked - very few power cuts now! ;D

We have got a generator, but have never used it. It is only about 4 years old too. It is in the nissan hut, which is where the cats sleep and it seems a long way to bring it to the house.

I can live without electricity as long as the power cut starts AFTER my first coffee. We don't have a generator but we do have a camping stove

Ours is installed in a purpose-built wooden 'box' outside the back door, and comes roaring into life at the click of a switch! (Told you OH likes a project!

This is the first time I have 'shopped around' for heating oil as the price is so high and variable. I saved £130 on my tank of home heating oil. I won't sit back any more and let the oil just arrive from the smart modern firm because it is easy and they have the records. The firm coming quoted cheaper than another which was the cheapest up until phoning them. Price matching in other words.

Well done Cherry, you can do a lot with £130.
We pay for ours monthly by DD so don't have the choice.
