I just couldn't watch it, when I heard there were 7 miles of boats. Never mind, the paper today is full of photos!

The queen had to watch all of it Geranium. I had lots to do in the kitchen around it so it was easy for me.

You are probably right Rosie. The queen's ankles were swollen when she left the boat.
It did not do the Duke any good did it? I do think the planners were wrong to make it so long.

We were discussing it today with mum-in-law who's 90 & saying how well the Queen & Duke did to stand for all that time & they will be coming down with pneumonia now & have just heard poor Phil is in hospital with a bladder infection, not surprising really, although I bet he's pleased he doesn't have to sit through hours of that concert tonight.

I'm ashamed to say we didn't watch any of it! Poor Phil - I hadn't heard that. I expect it'll be the top news in the paper.

The fireworks were really good Grindle. I think we are all a bit tired of fireworks, but these were really worth watching so I am glad I did.
I adored Alfie Boe and Renee Fleming. I have CDs of both singers. Some of the modern acts were good too, but then some of these were very ordinary and I hate Robbie Williams. I am glad I watched.

I was surprised......all through the festivities.....little or no sign of Princes Andrew (saw him lounging on one of the boats : ..or Prince Edward and his family.......or Princess Ann......thought they would have been part of the "balcony scene"

What a celebration! ;D Would you please put Paul's terrine on the recipe page, unless it is his secret recipe. I used to make Pork Galantine with apricots, but I have lost the recipe. The recipe would be 40 years or more old now. Paul's will be more up-to-date, especially as it has pistachios in it.

I was surprised......all through the festivities.....little or no sign of Princes Andrew (saw him lounging on one of the boats : ..or Prince Edward and his family.......or Princess Ann......thought they would have been part of the "balcony scene" Princess Ann was in uniform and on the Trinity House boat as she is patron or whatever of lighthouses. She was there, getting wet and being "ordinary". She is a worker. Prince Andrew was there pushing his girls forward as usual, but I did not see Prince Edward.
