Paul, congratulations for some good wins so far and all the best for the County Show.
Tel, Take a ruler or tape measure, or are they in the 'if you can find one' group? What did they do before these professional looking rings. All the best for your show too.

I cannot see this show surviving another 12 months, when i left the exhibits way way down in everything, unless there is a rush in the last hour before judging, it will be a poor show. There were only two of us with any dahlias, i had 3 vases and the other exhibitor had 2 vases, and his were not for the classes i entered. I have put a cucumber in that is not quite straight. ;D 6 french beans that are good.

The show finished up with 3 dahlia exhibitors. The late comer won both dahlia medals. I had two seconds and one first with the poms, received a trophy for the poms. Second with the 3 different sized seedling. Second with the mixed vase of Small Decs all different sizes again, the top bloom Rossendale Peach was rubbish if i do say so myself. First with the pom Moorplace The pom Trophy I had two entries in the veg section First for french beans First for a Carmen cucumber. Plus NVS silver medal for best veg in show Does this qualify me to join the winners board. ;D Hopefully i should have a lot more blooms to choose from next weekend.

To say the dahlias are timed for the middle of Sept, i was surprised to have any dahlia entries at all in this show this year. The silver medal in the veg classes came as a big surprise, i only put a small amount of veg in a show, sometimes none at all. This is only the second silver medal for veg i have ever won, they will be catching up with the silver medals for dahlias at this rate. ;D

Congratulations Tel. Beautiful entries and a good result.
How big should Jomanda and M. Jomanda be? My flowers were very uniform but the plants were so big they looked stuffed as sausages, yet I never fed them. They toppled eventually. However, Ruby which is grown harder in soil which is not perfect are coming along well.
