I picked a bowl of various tomatoes from the greenhouse tonight & made a tomato tart served with home grown Lady Christl potatoes & broccoli ( shop bought!) Lovely Tomatoes Sue I have also found no difference in the crop between grafted plants or ones grown from seed.

The problem with nematodes is they are living organisms and as such will not wipe out their food supply. Interplant your toms and melons with some Tagetes. Dai - I am sorry to contradict you but Encarsia Formosa isn't a nematode - it is a parasitic wasp that lays its eggs in the white fly scales. There does need to be whitefly present for it to work but once it does the Whitefly population does go down drastically. It is the best form of control in my greenhouse - Tagetes have not worked for me in the past . www.biological-control.co.uk/#/encarsia/4534683560

No they don't keep. They don't work until the temperature is up a bit - I usually get them in June. The cards arrive every week for 4 weeks and have to be hung up straight away - I have found them to be very good

Rosie's chocolate cake is one of my absolute favourites but last month another recipe tempted me I made the basic chocolate cake then filled and topped it with fresh cream with a couple of spoonfuls of toffee sauce whisked together and toffee sauce drizzled over the cream in the middle - it was yummy A cake for sharing!!!! I had just started to cut into it and then decided to take a photo Basic cake recipe 150ml vegetable oil 200g Plain flour 8tablespoons Cocoa 2 teaspoons Baking powder 1teaspoon Bicarbonate of soda 280 g soft light brown sugar 200 ml Buttermilk 100 ml strong coffee 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract 2 large eggs Level spoonfuls Line 2 8" tins Gas no. 4 Mix dry ingredients together Mix wet ingredients together Mix these together divide into tins and bake for 25 - 30 minutes
