Grindle, they are gorgeous and fuchsias are not my favourite, but some are very nice, and that bottom pic is a lovely colour. The clematis are worth propagating. I mentioned on here that I accidently cut one stem of Clematis macropetala, so i cut it into three and rooted each one. They are healthier than the small ones from mail order companies. Bigger, with good root systems. They have been potted on and are outside. do you root them in a heated propagator Cherry? I put them in a Wilkinsons tray with a lid in the greenhouse, so it wasn't a proper propagator. They were cut 1.5 ins below the leaf node, and when inserted the leaves rested on top of the Perlite and Compost mix. Remember, this was in spring when soft cuttings were raring to go. Why don't you try a couple now, and a have serious go in the spring. I might try to photograph them.

I like your Eva Boerg Rosie. It's similar to Lena which I've got. I have lots of fuchsias. They are hopeless this year. I lost a few in the winter.

What do you mean by "hopeless" Hywel ? They're supposed to be easy but though mine flower ok, the leaves are all slightly discoloured and misshapened.

My basket fuschias have not done very well, some yellow leaves and not much growth, they have only just started flowering. I'm wondering whether it has been caused by the multi-purpose compost I used but I can't remember which make it was now But the baskets and pots I did later with the Levingtons compost have performed much better.

I only have one basket of fuchsias and it looks as if it is almost over.
The compost and fertilizer can definitely have an influence on the finished product.

My fuchsias in pots have not done well, I thought it was because I've never been good with anything in a pot.
The ones in the garden are the best they have ever been.

I like fuchsias peeping out below shrubs with lots of green behind them. Mine are never used as a showpiece.

I mean they are not putting on much growth, and have very few buds. Some have none at all. The hardy ones seem to be doing slightly better than the potted ones.
