I did too! ;D I got the brambles out of the Viburnum, checked the greenhouse and then rain stopped play. I've got some plants ready to put in (seed sown Foxgloves and Honesty) but I suspect it's still raining.

I managed another half-hour and got three Lunaria rediviva plants in and some phlox dead-headed, then the rain came back. That's it - I give up!

All I've done in the garden today is pick two carrier bags full of damsons. We have two inherited trees in the front garden and they always have masses of fruits which make a terrible mess when they fall. A few years ago, with the help of the retired fireman who lives across the road, we used to pick them all, but he's in his eighties now and not too well, and I can't clamber up ladders like I used to so I can only pick the ones I can reach from the ground. The rest have to be raked up when they fall

This afternoon was ear marked for gardening but I went for a long cycle ride with a friend instead. All I managed in the garden was to pick a carrier bag of runner beans, one of French beans and a bowl of tomatoes. I did pot up the broccoli plants which I was supposed to be planting in the garden, I'll have to wait until they have sorted their roots out now. It was a good day though, I love cycling.

The wind brought the wisteria down, I tried to get the ladder up there but it was just too windy (it is an upstairs window). We will just have to put the lights on during the day until the wind drops.

I just picked off some seedheads from my Galega on the way past, and that was the sum total of my gardening today. It was hopeless to think about going outside to get anything done. Sorry to hear about your Wisteria, Wf. I hope you can fasten it back up.

Beautiful window (and plants) Shame about the view ;D I may have to put a few more fixings in the wall but I'm sure it will be fine, wisteria is quite bendy. So Steve, today a pie, tomorrow master chef

And you're famous, too, Steve. You kept that one quiet! A photo in the AG magazine, no less! ;D Did they allow you to keep the snippers?
