We got a lot done yesterday and hope to continue today too. It's amazing what can be achieved with out disturbances!! Hope to finally plant out all the poor bulbs that have been patiently waiting for me to get round to them. I'm still walking round in circles trying to find a permanent home for some Dahlias that are still in pots. Have a great day.

A busy day in the garden today. I've planted out my first batch of peas, along with my beetroot seedlings and onion sets. Planted a couple of rows of carrots and turnips, and set another batch of peas in the greenhouse.

I planted some potato tubers in big pots and I cut back a holly bush that was getting out of shape on a trellis.

weeded another section of border, planted out some foxgloves that I had been overwintering, found loads of vine weevil grubs in some of them which were a treat for the birds

Due to a day of very strong winds and rain or hail showers I wasn't able to get out on the balcony at all yesterday. 😢

Stuck the armillary back on it's plinth after it fell off during the storms, tied in the climbing Handel rose to the arbour & stood the wooden obelisk back up & dug little holes to put the feet in to make it more stable. Planted out the last few Golden Gourmet shallots in a pot & pulled a few weeds before the showers started.

Finally got some of the Gladioli planted, I will plant then in 2/3 week intervals so as the prolong the display. Pleased to note that all Dahlias ( those that were left in the ground and the 15 that were homeless last year and had to live in pots) are showing strong signs of growth. Hopefully the homeless ones will be given their forever homes out in the borders this year.

took down some old trellis that had collapsed with a Jasmine in it both are now gone, cleared all the weeds in that small border and have noticed quite a few plants have died with all the wet over this winter, I've already filled the 4 green bags ready for Monday, so it looks like a trip to the tip will be happening

I went out onto balcony yesterday morning with the intention of repotting some small pots of Carnations into bigger pots but the strong cold wind made me retreat back indoors again! 😔

Made a start on repairing the damage from the tree felling. Going to be a long slow job.

Another day without doing anything outside other than watering the majority of the pots as they had got very dry with the ongoing winds day after day!
