Hello erani nice to see you pop up again! We've have been researching having a pond, not sure what we will get yet though. I just seem to do a lot of deadheading right now, and tidying up plants gone a bit crazy with all the warmth/rain.

Hi erani, nice to hear from you again, we have a lot of azolla in our pond which I suppose I should clear but I don't want to disturb the tiny frogs in there at the moment, pulled a few weeds out from around the edge yesterday too. Dead-headed the roses & pulled some leaves with black spot off them, weeded the borders, picked some spinach for tea & took a few photos. gif uploading site

I got 36 perennial plug plants 'free' from G.World magazine so I potted them up in a couple of cell trays & put them out in the mini greenhouse & 5 plants I'd ordered from the Secret Garden club came so I planted them out in the garden. Mowed & edged the lawn & pulled a few more weeds out & picked more tomatoes & a cucumber for tea.

If it stays fine this afternoon....I may venture into the wilderness and tackle the remainder of the clematis......

been busy clearing the pond of duckweed, cleaned the pump and got it going again, cut the grass and started today on Crosby's garden, been digging out all the plants and digging it over and removing as much of the bindweed as I can see, still more to do tomorrow then will start to replant, I will need to buy different plants as its more shady now, I hacked a Leycestaria back as it was taking over and that's let in more light now

I've been busy this weekend, everything is now out, loads of bindweed, the ground was very compacted and nothing was growing well, loads of compost going on and I will start to replant this week hopefully

You have been busy grindle. Didn't do any gardening myself as we went to a plant fair at the Dorothy Clive garden yesterday & I got a couple of different rudbeckias & a tall helenium - decided I need a bit more yellow/orange in the front garden so I'll have to get around to planting them sometime this week.

We were at Dorothy Clive yesterday morning too. Bought very little. The prices have now gone to beyond our purse. Shame, it used to be a cheaper source of less common plants. Mind as my wife pointed out, if we are going to have to sell up and move then there is little point in planting anything anyway.

Chiltern seeds do lots of uncommon stuff.

Hope you don't have to move Geumlover, it looks lovely where you are. I didn't look at many of the prices as I knew what I wanted & they were fairly common & reasonably priced for such large plants but I think they are creeping up as when one nursery puts the price up the others all follow suit, most of the things I looked at seemed to be £6 or £7 but I got the rudbeckias (Cherokee Sunset & deamii) for £3.50 & £5 & the helenium (Vicky) was about 4ft tall & £6. Planted them out yesterday in the front garden along with 3 bearded irises which came 'free' from G.World magazine & heuchera 'Blondie' in the back garden which I got from Stonyford Gardens nursery the other day.

Had to throw away all of the Damsons from the snapped part of the tree. They were beginning to rot. Sad, but there are as many left as we have already had. Potted up some seedlings, hopefully of a Leycesteria with yellow flowers. Maybe a bit tender for us to grow outside though. Took some baby plants out of a seed tray to pot up and there was 14 slugs and 5 snails in the tray with them.

I spent most of last week helping my brother dismantle his shed, and build a new one, hence not being around myself. Yesterday was a catch up day in my own garden, mowing the lawn, pulling up the last of the pea's and weeding. Back to work today for a rest!
