I agree - are the lilies planted in the border, or are they in pots? I tend to use pots these days because of the dreaded lily beetle! I like Orlaya - I should grow it!

Thank you all for the lovely comments. Geranium, these lillies are planted in the border, this is their 3rd year and the first time that their flowering time has coincided exactly with the alliums Rosie, the Orlaya make a lovely 'filler' plant and grow easily from seed. I saw them for the first time last year in a garden we visited with our garden club and asked one of the gardeners what they were. Are your foxglove 'Illumination' flowering yet?

Mine are. I do hope these plants turn out to be perennial - I lost last year's. One of the poppies that has grown where the 'Miraclegro' seeds were sown. My favourite Deutzia - 'Strawberry Fields'. Phormium cookianum 'Tricolor' in flower Strange flowers!

My 'Illumination' foxgloves which I managed to get through the winter are flowering now as well. They're in pots on the decking & although pretty they seem a bit dull in colour to me & I think I prefer the common purple/pink ones.

They are a bit 'weird', SueA. Not really attractive, I'd call them 'architectural'. I have so many poppies -they weren't in the Miraclegro mix, they just appeared. It's hard to choose my favourite, but I do like this mauve one!

Thank you Tel for these beautiful plants. The Dahlia was 'used' as it had been to WI the previous evening. The Campanula lasts very well in a vase. Jenny's Rose. This beautiful rose was given to me by a special forum friend. No, not one of the fellas. It is Rose by another name. Deutzia Rosea This where the Campanula lactiflora 'Prichard's Variety' is planted in two lots.

In the above picture, the Aconitum can be seen through the Berberis 'Helmond Pillar'. Rosa Mundi is creeping below the Deutzia. One stem of this has changed to a cerise colour. I did not say reverted, because I don't know if it is grafted.

I think the Phormium is kind of awesome - it's a really nice contrast to all the smaller leaved plants around it. 'Illumination' is lovely - such a delicate sugary colour, i think it's gorgeous. But I like my pastels a lot.
