What a lovely house and garden Rosie. Is the side of the roof I can see the garage? Are they pink lupins in the middle garden? I grew one which was such a dirty muddy purple colour, I pulled it out before it set seed.

Thanks Cherry, that is our Neighbour Mark's shed, in spring it is full of lambs when the weather is bad...they make such a racket!! it is indeed pink lupins, i grew them from seed a couple of years ago. I haven't put a picture up of the other side of the flower garden yet but i will! I have put an update in the blogs thread, i didn't want to clog this one up with my garden!

Very pretty, Rosie. I know how hard you've worked to get to this stage.

Here's the stream bank coming to life - the roses and Salvias are in bloom, and the other plants are on their way. I like the splash of yellow Lysimachia even though I have to pull some out every year. I had to revamp the twin pots by the seat, and ended up putting in Dahlia 'Roxy' and pale pink Diascia. I don't think I've shown you the wall border lately - I can't take a photo of the whole thing, so this is the right hand end.

Clever co-ordination. The stream looks a sunny place and the Lysimachia goes with the expectations of streamside planting. I would love to plant the 10 foot drain, but this is cleared every three years. A white dog rose comes up every year and bulrushes in the drain. Do the sword shaped leaves belong to irises Geranium?

There are clumps of Siberian Irises in there, Cherry, which have all finished flowering apart from one yellow bloom, but the large clumps are Montbretia. I won't call them 'Crocosmia' because they're those orange ones!

I like the splash of yellow by the stream as well Geranium & the colours in the wall border go really well with the stones in the wall.

Love the pink and purple wall border, and that heuchera really makes a nice splash at the bottom.
I'm envious of your dahlia flowering happily in a pot - mine just seem to grow luscious leaves. Despite trying different pots, places and evil threats, I rarely get flowers...

Thanks, everyone. Bess, welcome to the forum. I'm not an expert on Dahlias, but there are several members who should be able to help you. Cherry, I quite like Montbretia, and it does make lovely clumps of colour later in the year, so it's welcome to stay - as long as I keep it from swamping other plants!
