They're lovely, Cherry, sideways or not. My friend up the lane sells Hemerocallis on the internet - her front garden is ablaze with colour from the pots waiting to go off! I only have two - and some leaves from a non-flowering plant. I'm afraid tinypic won't play this morning. I'll try later.

These all flowers are very nice and beautiful. I like to plant this kind of flowers in my garden which adds unique value to my home and garden also. I would like to know more about this flowers and growing ideas.

I went through a stage of planting these and the first one, along with some others, came from forum members. Do not be tempted by Chris Bowers Day Lilies or Whispering Trees Nursery. I will tell you why on our gossip channel. Your friend is no doubt better.

They are indeed lovely and Hemerocalis are generally easy to grow and have a new flower every day, hence the name daylily They are gorgeous Cherry, mine are only in bud for now.

This is the first of my tree lilies to flower this year. The heavy rain overnight snapped the stem, so it is now in a vase, the scent is glorious

That's lovely Rosie, I must try some of these. Do you grow them in the ground or in pots?

Ahem peony...twas my pic....lol I grow them in pots...my soil is a bit too heavy to grow these very well. Having said that, the tiger lilies grow very well in the ground here.

Oops apologies Lou, must be going cross-eyed! Thanks for the info, sounds as though they would probably grow OK in my well drained alkaline soil. I shall definitely give them a try

It's a beautiful lily Lou. It doesn't matter that it is in a vase now, because when they are fully out, we have to watch them shrivel up.

We seem to be all lilies at the mo I had no idea there were so many different types of daylilies until I saw an article recently. They did really well in my old fen garden too. Here's an Aldi special! Asiatic, called simply 'Orange' - which it very much is. It's rather striking, although it totally clashes with every single other plant on my patio. And a single big white one that makes my whole bedroom smell gorgeous from it's position just outside under my window. The pink ones in the same pot flowered earlier, it was a mixed bag of bulbs I won in a raffle at a spring produce show...

I like that stripy Hemerocallis very much Cherry. I have two but they are not flowering very well this year. The few flowers on them are distorted. I like lilies but I'm afraid to have any because the pollen is poisonous to cats.
Here is my Veronicastrum, which is better than it's been for a long time. It goes nicely with the Malva next to it. I like pastel shades best
Sorry my photos are small. I hope it isn't too much of a nuisance to click on them to see them better. It's the only way I know to upload them ...
