Love the cosmos flowers Geranium & Bess, I grew some a few years ago & loved them but so did the slugs & snails unfortunately! I agree with Bess @hywel , that third photograph is beautiful!

They look great for flowers produced in pots. That was badly worded. They look good no matter where they were raised Bess.

You are the forum expert on Fuchsias, @hywel. How many have you got? Here are a couple of flowers out at the moment. Lysimachia ciliata Dahlia 'Fabuloso' from last year, and left in the ground. Rosa 'Pink Perpetue' still going strong.

I don't know how many Fuchsias I've got Geranium. Several died during last winter, so there must be something like 30 left now. I want to replace my favourite ones next year. I am no expert though lol ... it's just trial and error ... and I can tell you there's a lot of error !
I've never heard of that Lysimachia. It looks interesting. How big does it get ? That Dahlia is pretty. I like the way the petals are coloured. And the Rose Pink Perpetue, I love it. I've been meaning to get one for years but never seem to get round to it.

I don't think mine have ever looked as good as peony's. It was such a healthy well rooted cutting that you sent me Jenny and it grew very quickly in the greenhouse, I've been delighted with it. I've kept it in a pot for this year as I don't want to lose it over winter, but if my cuttings take and it over-winters OK in the greenhouse I'll plant it in the garden next year

Geranium and @hywel. Be warned. Pink Perpetue has vicious thorns and flowers way up in the air. I am on warfarin and the thorns were a big bother, but I could not get rid of the root and I now cut it down to 2 ins above the ground every year, and it flowers at a better size. However, we had west country visitors who could not believe how well roses grow in this area because it is so dry. That is probably the only thing which may grow even better here than in your gardens in milder climates.

Yes, Cherry, I already had an inherited 'Pink Perpetue', which climbs and flowers way up above the canopy of the grape vine, so I knew it was a strong grower. This one is against the new wall, and I'd like it to cover its trellis panel. @hywel, that Lysimachia is a thug - but lovely. It's normally about 3' tall, but this year it has only grown to 2'. It's useful because it grows in shade.

I love these little rockery pinks (which are not actually growing in a rockery) ... They are so cheerful, and have produced loads of flowers since I moved them from a concrete trough, into the garden

This Phlox is also doing well at the moment ...

The next one is Streptocarpella. I know it isn't in the ground - it's in a pot, but it is part of my garden. I love it's colour :-

Hywel, none of my garden is 'in the ground'! But if you're 'gardening' it, be it in pots, bags or windowsill, it's your garden, I figure.
All your fuchsias are lovely (wish I had them to put in the local show instead of my one half decent plant) but I particularly like 'White Spider' - the way the sepals curve over is cool. Look like curling ribbon or a turk's cap!
