Stargazer is rather lovely SueA. Speedstar looks like a pretty double. I have bad memories of Miss Lucy which did not come back again. Triumphator - can't miss.

Its interesting you mention Miss Lucy, Cherry. Both myself and a gardening friend had great problems with this lily last year...the blooms going brown before they opened......but voila!!....this year they are stars!...Her's are open and looking gorgeous and mine are just starting to open.

Two photos to show Cherry how well the two rooted cuttings she kindly sent me have flowered - Salvia 'Royal Bumble' Fuschia Dollar Princess'

peony I just noticed your Salvia and Fuchsia. They look really good. I lost my Salvia and had to ask Tel to let me have a cutting which he had rooted. He gave me three, so I will look after them and take cuttings, well now actually. I find I look after plants better which have been given by friends and cyber-friends. That is a plant I just can't do without. It has a good balance of small leaves with the clear red flowers. What a grand pot!

Nice Fuchsia Peony. That one's a good strong variety. I like your Salvia too. I've never had any success with them myself, but yours seems to be doing well.

Cherry you have reminded me I must take some cuttings from the salvia, I've already taken a few from the fuchsia although as that it is a pot I will keep it in the greenhouse over winter.

I had Miss Lucy Cherry a few years ago & was really disappointed with it, weak flowers the first year & none the second, perhaps they've improved the variety a bit now from what you say Lou78W . I've got salvia 'Royal Bumble' which Cherry sent me peony but it's a tiny plant which I grew from a cutting & kept in the mini greenhouse over winter, the original which I planted out didn't survive in the ground, I must remember to take more cuttings from it, it's lovely in a pot on the patio.

I don't think mine have ever looked as good as peony's.

Some of my 'bargain box' lilies are starting to flower now, they look like they will be nearly all orange or yellow from the buds. Here's a pic. of a couple of the orange which have just opened.

My lilies are a distant memory now! Here are a few flowers out at the moment. I haven't quite got the hang of posting photos with the new system yet - but if you click on each, they come up HUGE!

Love that last photo, Hywel, beautiful. Another Cosmos, one of my favourite - 'Seashells' I like the feathery foliage too on these and the way the flowers float in it. Lawks that's a massive photo too, I'll just fiddle with that and make it smaller! Ok try again; And another one; I'm chuffed I've actually grown dahlias with flowers on them this year! I realise this may seem a bit elementary to some on this forum but since I started to garden in tubs, I just grew loads of leaves and no flowers on them. This year I had four little dahlia plants I didn't really know what to do with, and didn't want to waste space on since they're usually a big fail. So I shoved 'em all in an old washing up bowl together and thought they could take a chance. They've all got lots of flowers or buds I think they're 'Pompon Mixed' from Dobies or something.
