What a good idea to put those plants in a hanging basket grindle I should think your Hosta is safer from slugs up there ?

They look lovely...especially the Hosta....bet the SaS are sitting at the bottom of the tree wondering....hm.....now how do I... lol I think the pink border looks lovely...just enough contrast of pink to make it interesting.....if it were mine, I would leave it

I always though slugs and snails could climb.

Love the basket tree grindle , I saw Joe Swift on Gardeners' World put a hosta in his 'hanging basket' (actually a wooden orchid crate) & he said he was hoping the slugs & snails wouldn't get to it. I've had snails climb up the house walls to get into baskets though, I suppose it depends on how hungry/determined/observant (hmm, is that a juicy hosta up there? ) they are! I doubt they'd bother climbing all the way up your tree & shimmying along the branches though!

They don't seem to bother them at all, the bigger hosta has been there for about 3 years with not so much as a nibble I lift them down in the winter and hang them back up when they start to grow again. The Heucherellas get the same treatment. Thanks Lou78W I saw Joe Swift too SueA I rather liked the basket he used

I have never seen Hostas look as good as yours in baskets in the tree Grindle. Even show gardens could not achieve this designer look which is immensely practical.
