Love your cacti Eli. Bit slow when I loaded a photo this morning too grindle, I think it's possibly something to do with the image host or forum server.

That is stunning, Geumlover, and reminds me I have most probably missed the wisteria tunnel at my local Hampton Court AGAIN *sigh* one of these years I will remember at the right season! Had a nice surprise in the garden tonight. When we moved in over 2 years ago, I found bunches of strappy leaves around the garden, which I didn't recognise. I kept about three clumps out of curiosity/accident, but they just didn't do anything for two summers. However this third summer I've got three clumps of some sort of yellow/grey irises? They're rather delicate and lovely, that photo makes them look all washed out but the light was fading by then. I'm glad I didn't scrap them maybe clearing out around them, improving drainage etc has helped. The Churchill Rose, with one of our baby dinosaurs Everyone should have at least one big sage bush I reckon This is planted in the tortoise run, and has so many bees on it it was literally humming. Some of the succulents left over from my sis-in-law's wedding, potted up more to my taste (she had them in sage green tins, it didn't bring out the colours at all I thought.) ETA those thumbnails are supposed to be links to bigger photos as usual, but not working right now. Will work on it!

Your flowers love your garden sweetpea judging by the size of them, I've got a Zepherine Drouhin rose too but mine's still quite small at the moment. Bess I've got some irises which look a bit like your mystery one & I'm not sure what it is either, it may be iris tuberosa from J. Parker's, I don't remember when they were planted but they didn't flower last year, maybe it's something which takes time to establish before flowering? Here's mine:-

Mystery Iris is I. foetidissima, a British native.

Thanks Geumlover, if that's what mine are I've no idea where they came from , I don't remember planting them but it's possible I've just forgotten or they may have been masquerading as a pot of daylilies when I bought some clearance plants last year, I do like them though.

I did check mine yesterday as the leaves of iris foetidissima are supposed to smell of rotting meat if you tear/crush them & they do smell a bit 'beefy'.
