Looking good Bess, I've got Lady Marmalade & it's one of my top performing roses along with You're Beautiful & Rhapsody in Blue. I love cornflowers too, took a photo yesterday on my phone in very bright sunshine so not very good but it shows a colourful patch & some cornflowers have popped up there, I keep sowing seeds & putting in little plants but these seem to have just decided to come up here this year.

I love all the containers fixed on the wall trellis chrism, looks really good. I notice you've got a few bee homes, don't be surprised if you spot holes in your rose leaves, it'll be leaf-cutter bees who will use them to fill in the ends of the bamboo in the homes when they have larvae in there. A few of my roses have more holes than leaves at the moment but I don't mind as it's only cosmetic damage & does no harm, I'll try & get a photo to show you later.

Thanks both. It was just laid on 17 April, and I’ve had truckloads to do around the sides as it was all very neglected patio beforehand, and there was no planting at all. It’s a labour of love though, with continuous learning. I love gardening even on these humid, sweltering days. The bees have been taking cuttings from our blackcurrant bush, SueA!

Your hostas look really good grindle, I'm still waiting for one of my trees to grow big enough to hang some from (may be some time/years! ) This is my Harlow Carr rose chrism after the leafcutter bees have been at it & where they have been using the leaves, they've also used the leaves of a small serviceberry tree in another beehouse at the end of the garden.

It’s great to support nature isn’t it, SueA. Leaves are acceptable collateral damage in my view. I can see you also have mason bees that have laid eggs. Great.

it's the only way I can keep hostas in this garden SueA I have found with the bay tree being cut back, not only did I lose some of the hanging branches, but they and the ferns are getting a lot more sun than they're used to Thanks chrism
