Do you have a machine to wind the pasta through? . Yes I do, I think you would struggle without one. Ours cost £2 at the car boot, it was the best £2 I ever spent. If I had to choose between my bread machine and my pasta machine, I'd choose the pasta. Esther, the recipe 1 egg per 100g of flour and a pinch of salt. One egg is a generous portion for one person, 3 eggs makes enough for four people. Knead it all together until it is smooth, leave it to stand for 15 minutes wrapped in cling film. Work with dough about the size of a golf ball, wind it through the machine on the widest setting, fold it over and wind it through again, repeat 3 times. Wind it through the machine reducing the setting each time, when you are down to setting 3 put it through the spaghetti bit.

If Steve can't put this over to the recipe section WF, and I don't think he can when it is in the middle of another thread, would you mind putting that and the photo in there? Go on, find the time when it is wet. We must have the best recipe section ever and I use it.

I’ve made taglatelli and ravioli without a machine, I got bored with the rolling, a machine is fun. I expect spaghetti isn’t quite so easy by hand, the cutting would be time consuming.

Has anyone stopped their tomatoes yet? Should I do this now? yes cherry, I stop mine when they reach the top of the g'house which was over a week ago. My only variety this year, Gardeners delight. Picking loads every day and gave my neighbour a dish full today on her birthday. As ever we have too many to use at home but they do not get wasted. One of the plants has grown out the roof vent but still doing well. I read a few years back of someone who trains their toms up and across the roof and down the other side. They need tying in very regularly to do that as the leader always wants to grow upright.

I stopped mine quite a while ago but I did start my plants early. I used to stop them at five trusses but this year because I'm using string I let them get to the height of the greenhouse.
