Nice of you to look it up lesley, It is a pointer breed. Schmoo is all long limbs and quite different to his cocker spaniel ‘brother’. Moira is always calling them brothers. Cats are not welcome on the island because of the wildlife which is a pity as I love cats. They have to be kept in at night. |

I feel very sorry for Schmoo. I had a lot of earache and problems as a kid and it still haunts me! What a difficult situation. Vizsla's are such beautiful dogs - that warm amber colour. I was surprised to see the Pets thread bumped up to the top as I was going to post this photo in it that I took today -  Just Huffy the tiny chicken chillin' on the swing! |

Did you give her a push Bess? Poor Schmoo must have been quietly suffering for years with his ears Cherry, maybe the first vets were inexperienced or something but hopefully he'll get some relief now. |

Cherry is the flighty one! She's the one who imagines every single thing is out to get her, and is quite jumpy - not one for a cuddle! The other two are a lot more sensible... They had spells of laying eggs - but no, being bantams, they never really lay well alas. If you want regular eggs you need those nice big brown proper chickens that are more useful and less decorative! Bantams spend a good part of their time broody I'm afraid. But my garden is too small for useful chickens, they'd scratch it into oblivion (and these three make a heck of a mess as it is.)
No SueA I didn't give her a push, she got up and was walking up and down the swing so she was rocking herself! I've just noticed I must clean the poop off the swing - not the bantams. Dratted pidgeons will sit on top.

Bantams are used to brood turkey eggs. You could have some turkeys. Ha ha!

That blanket is old SueA. One of my grandmothers made it for my other grandmother when she wasn't well once

We had the company of the Trails collie on our walk in the afternoon, finally managed to get them both to sit still, amazing what the thought of a treat will do  |
