Went to my son,Martyn's ,house this morning and pulled up his remaining bedding plants.I have told you before that his garden is full of bittercress.I started hand weeding the largest ones but there are hundreds of tiny seedlings .When I had removed the largest ones I turned the soil over hoping that the tiny ones would die. Went on the allotment this afternoon and carried on weeding where I had removed the annuals.Brought a lot of flowers home and put them in a vase then we could enjoy them before I got rid of the rest of the plants.

Thanks Sue Had a morning on the allotment just carrying on with the weeding. When I got home from school this afternoon I started emptying my hanging baskets ready for re-planting.I potted up some plants from them that I want to keep till next year -geraniums,surfinias,calibracoas, and verbenas to take cuttings of in spring.I have enough bacopas and diascias already in the greenhouse so I didn't need any more.

Just had about two hours spare this afternoon and I went on the allotment.Removed all the annuals from another bed onto the compost heap and began weeding the bed. We have had no rain for a week or so but it is much colder today.

Went on the allotment this morning. It was too wet for digging and weeding but I decided to get the spray chrysanths ready for lifting and boxing up. I cut them all down and tied most of the labels onto the stools but couldn,t finish them because it started raining. So I went in the polytunnel and picked to rest of the tomatoes and got rid of the plants.I haven't got my own polytunnel but I use one end of somebody else's to grow a few tomatoes and carnations.

Had a wasted morning today.I went to our horticultural supply hut (I usually just refer to it as "the hut") to help to unload a wagon with 16 pallets of potting and multipurpose compost. There were 5 of us there altogether. We were told yesterday that it was coming between 9.00 and 10.00 but it didn,t arrive till 12.45 so we were just hanging about waiting all morning. .I didn,t get home till 1.45. We order it early because it is cheaper but the price has still gone up a lot. When we start up next January the price of a 75 litre bag will have gone up 50p.I use about 50 bags in the course of a season so it will cost me an extra £25 or so. It was raining the rest of the afternoon and I had some computer work to do so I didn't go out.

I stayed at Abersoch many years ago Derek. Very nice. We took my young son, as he was then, up to the top of Mt. Snowdon on a special train. I do like the Lleyn Peninsula.

I have been having more computer trouble. That's why you haven't heard from me for a few days . It has been at a shop over the weekend and they have sorted it out. I got it back this afternoon. In the last few days I have boxed up the spray chrysanths and carried on emptying my hanging baskets and containers .I have been to a garden centre for more basket plants and planted 8 baskets for some of my neighbours and friends but still have some to do for myself.

Went to the local garden centre this morning for some more basket plants .I had started doing three for my friend Alan accross the road ,the other day so I finished these off and started doing three for myself.I am still a few plants short though so I will have to go again. When I went to this garden centre at this time last year there were some pot chrysanth plants that were no longer saleable and they had put them under one of the benches. The flowers were dead and the leaves all drooping. They were going to throw them out so I asked if I could have one to take cuttings of.I did so and have now got some nice plants in flower and I took one to show them today.

I have not been on the allotment for several days due to doing hanging baskets and other things but I went this afternoon.I dug up the lobelia "Queen Victoria"because I don,t think they will survive the winter .Potted them up when I got home.Put the marrow and courgete plants on the compost heap.Spent the rest of the time weeding the annual beds .There were a few penstemons on here so I brought these home and potted them up.
