Problem is i cannot thread it  . Ive threaded the top, and shuttle following the instructions. The shuttle thread will not pull through and the top thread snags on the inside  . Also the foot pedal is missing so I'm going to have to use it by hand (if i get it working  ). (I know moan moan moan  ). (Its a 50s joans b too  ) |

how dissapointing floydie Did you change the sewing needle ? some times that helps. where did you get it from ?

You might have to have a repair before using the machine. You might find information on Google that is worthwhile. You found the sewing machine very quickly.

The needle looks to be fine, My mums coming to have a look at it for me (she probably will get it going).  . I'm not sure if i want to buy a new foot pedal for it incase the electrics don't work... |

It would probably be worthwhile getting it serviced too Floydie, they can get pretty gummed up inside with fluff, fibres, bits of thread etc etc.

My mum got it going (eventually ). So ive nearly made an extra large blue fleece snuggle sack for the boys  , all be by hand , Once i got going i found it easy . |

Both but im missing the foot pedal . Im not happy OH has moved the snuggle i made and cannot find it . |

He is using it perhaps. Did you learn to sew at school? Is it worth having the machine cleaned and checked over as Rosie suggested? It would come back like a new machine.

We did hand sewing in primary and Juniors, i didn't take up sewing in secondary/comprehensive.
I'll get OH to give it a clean (we need to get some oil for it).
