Here's my garden thread - I shall try to add photos soon. Just as a starter, a photo of one of my Hamamelis x intermedia 'Arnold Promise', which is flowering now. And the first Cyclamen coum out.

I don't find them easy to establish, Wf. They're supposed to spread like the hederifoliums do - but they just don't! I shall buy a couple of potted ones when I see them. It's no use trying from dry corms.

I too have problems with them so I just keep some in pots. It's amazing how they revive after being left over Summer.

The Hamamelis? It's too far back in the flower bed to climb in and stick my nose in at the moment. Everything is so soggy out there still - and it rained in the night, too! When 'Rubin' flowers, I'll have a sniff.

I have two snowdrops out - one is Galanthus nivalis which opened on the 15th, and today I found a Galanthus elwesii in flower. The double ones aren't even showing any white yet!

The two photos are to show Cherry - I potted up some more water-rooted Penstemon this afternoon. Here's what the root systems look like. And I now have three trays with 18 little plants in each the greenhouse! I even remembered to label them this year.

Geranium, first I have to admire the photos. Secondly, I can see that they root from the nodes, and the pics are so good I can see exactly where to cut and how deep to sit in the water. This is amazing, and the roots look strong too, which they are not usually when rooted in water. Thankyou for thinking of me.

You're very welcome, Cherry - I knew you'd be interested. I use two sticks placed across the water jars to stop the cuttings from going down too deeply. I should have taken a photo of that, but I'm sure you can imagine it!

In the greenhouse I have two tubers of Corydalis solida 'George Baker', and also C. solida 'Beth Evans' in the garden. They go dormant after they've flowered - one good reason to keep some in pots! I have a label where 'Beth' is. I started 'George Baker' off in September, and I noticed shoots appearing yesterday. This is him last year. I wonder if anyone else grows these lovely plants? Corydalis solida 'George Baker'

Now that is good news! I think the tuberous Corydalis are reasonably easy to track down, Esther. I hope so, anyway! ;D
