I'm pleased that Tel approves. It has been mild, Seaburn, but it rained most of the day. Such a pain when I still have a lot to get done outside. I hoped the crocuses might open, but of course they didn't.

Here are the latest arrivals in my garden. This is Iris unguicularis, and it has flowered three weeks earlier than last year! This early tulip - 'Early Harvest' is also in flower approx. three weeks earlier than the first one in 2010.

Thanks, all - I have no explanation as to why they should be in flower earlier, unless it's to do with when the cold weather hit us. Last year everything was late because we had the cold from Jan - Feb. It hasn't been too cold in Jan/Feb this year, not here anyway! I found the first Tete-a-Tete in bloom when I was working outside this afternoon - in fact, a few odd ones in different places! The violas in the gate trough are flowering their socks off - I wish the sun would shine to open the crocuses, though!
